YouTube Sub Tracker is a browser extension that displays recent videos from YouTube channels you choose to follow. Your privacy matters to us — here's exactly what the extension does and doesn't do.

Data We Collect

None. YouTube Sub Tracker does not collect, transmit, or store any personal data on external servers.

Data Stored Locally

The following data is stored locally in your browser using Chrome's chrome.storage.local API:

• YouTube channel IDs and names you choose to follow
• Cached video titles, URLs, and publish dates from public YouTube RSS feeds
• Your preferences (theme, language, update range)

This data never leaves your browser and is not accessible to us or any third party.

Network Requests

The extension makes the following network requests:

• YouTube RSS feeds (youtube.com/feeds/videos.xml) — to fetch publicly available video data from channels you subscribe to
• YouTube channel pages (youtube.com/@...) — only when adding a new channel, to resolve the channel ID
• Fallback resolver (lgggg.de/youtube/api/resolve) — only when client-side channel resolution fails; the URL you entered is sent to resolve the channel ID, and no other data is transmitted

Third-Party Services

The extension reads publicly available YouTube RSS feeds. It does not use the YouTube Data API, does not require a Google account, and does not access any private YouTube data.

Analytics & Tracking

The extension contains no analytics, no tracking, no telemetry, and no advertising of any kind.

Data Sharing

We do not sell, share, or transfer any user data to third parties. There is no user data to share.

Data Deletion

All data is stored locally. To delete it, simply uninstall the extension or clear its data via chrome://extensions.

Changes to This Policy

If we update this privacy policy, the changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date.
